A Coffee with Tanner

We turned off Tanner’s Creative Cloud for ten minutes and made him drink coffee with us, so we could ask him about his love of Lizzo, Street Art and Clash of Clans.

What is your role at iperdesign?

I’m the Senior Graphic Designer and I’ve been in this role for just under a year.

What are some of your current goals?

My goal at the moment is to not be in the same place for any of my birthdays, for my next birthday I’m planning a trip to Portland.

What is one designing or coding pet peeve of yours?

If people sell their designs short I get disappointed. It’s sad when people show me their work and quantify it with “It’s not very good but…”

When you show people around Philadelphia, where do you take them?

I love street art so I usually give people a little walking tour and show them my favorite murals. I try to keep up to date and follow as many Philadelphia artists as I can on Instagram.

If you weren’t at work today what would you be doing?

Either playing way too much Clash of Clans on my phone or writing and performing music. I am wanting to sign up to Sofar Philly and perform for people in the near future.

Music or Podcast recommendations?

Anything by Lizzo, Daniel Cesar or the band Joseph.  I also love the political comedy Podcast Throwing Shade.

Any hidden skills or talents?

I used to be able to use a pogo stick and jump rope at the same time, I was a very dangerous child and that’s why my arm has been broken twice.

Who is someone you admire and why?
Lizzo really inspires me more than anyone else, I love her body positivity and support of LGBTQ and marginalized people.
If you were to write an autobiography what would the title be?

‘Why is Celine Dion a gay icon? and other mysteries of my life.’
